I happened to go to Amazon looking for a book on the glycemic index, after finding one I came across the following in the reviews

"My personal opinion now is just to avoid carbs altogether (apart from fruit and veg) and that would pretty much reduce your chance of experiencing most major health problems such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer"

I have to say I did not like the implication, that it was my fault, I did however respond and finished by suggesting he looked at the Diabetes UK website.

Annoyed of Eastbourne😡

There's a lot of rubbish spouted by people thanks to the relative ease of expressing it and the lack of any consequences on the interweb. Most people eat carbs but most don't get diabetes. Also, it's a ridiculous oversimplification of how these things develop. 🙄

good on you for sharing your view as well....everyone has different views, but I think it's important for people to have a variety of them to be able to make their own decisions. They may find it easier to avoid carbs altogether, but that doesn't mean that's the way forward, and after a bit of trial and error, it shouldn't stop you being able to eat carbs.
