After a few instances, in my first year dealing with T1D, where my blood sugar did not behave as I expected following a meal, I started looking for a way to easily record my insulin injections, primarily so that at least I would not have to doubt myself as to what I did and when. I was also concerned about over-using the same injection sites, leading to complications over time.
To assuage these two concerns I made myself a template showing injection sites. I include a printed copy in my diary and mark off each location as I use it. Then I take a photo on my phone just before injecting. This gives me something to refer back to later, if necessary. I delete those screenshots subsequently, usually the following day.
Anyway, I’m just putting this out there as a suggestion of something that might be useful to those newly diagnosed with T1D who may be finding the injection regime a little daunting, as I did. This is part of my process now and I do it purely out of habit. I realise it’s probably overkill, but, as the saying goes, overkill is under-rated
