During the last lockdown my singing lessons switched to theory lessons.
I mentioned to my teacher that I was thinking of writing a song about living with T1.
That was it. I had no idea how to do it but enjoyed learning along the way.

Here's the shareable link for The Best That I Can recording: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Kpm7BwO-EjwfiFgv6UjNOqoscSguQs9n/view?usp=sharing
It takes a bit of time to download.

This is a recording of the first version, arranged for Alto, Tenor and Bass. I have since added the soprano part, and we are now singing it with a choir that I am in (on Zoom). I am also writing the piano part ready for when we get back to normal.

I am really pleased with what I have produced and that I am now being more open about my Diabetes.

Well done this is such a great work in progress looking forward to the finished version.

Anything that helps people understand what it’s like living with a chronic condition - whatever it may be - is good in my book. And what could be better than a song? Good for you! :D

Thank you so much for sharing this @SB2015. It is really beautiful and inspirational.

Also a reminder to me (inclined to grumble about being T2 at times!) - about the considerably more issues that T1's have to deal with.
I had little awareness of this before I joined the forum, and now have the upmost respect for you all and how you cope with the relentlessness of living with T1.

Music makes everything better, even diabetes! Lovely, thank you for sharing 🙂 x
