A sad tale of disappointment

As some of you know, on a Wednesday evening after my weigh-in, I have an evening off the strict rules of my healthy diet. I can cope with being good all week as long as I can plan and drool over my forthcoming indulgence.

Last week I spotted a newish product on special offer in Asda: Cadbury Crunchie Rocks. 'Sounds lovely', I thought. A pack found its way into my basket, and it would have been rude not to pay. I took it home and nurtured it carefully in the back of the cupboard, only getting it out to admire it occasionally.

Wednesday evening finally arrived. I took the packet out, opened it gently, extracted one chunk of my object of desire, bit into it... and YUK! I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting, but that certainly wasn't it. It was like a very cheap cornflake crisp made with waxy chocolate with an occasional crumb of honeycomb (sweepings from the factory floor?).

To add insult to injury, I went to the Cadbury website to complain about the devastating disappointment they had subjected me to. I typed in my tale of woe, clicked on Submit, and the whole thing vanished. Did it again, same non-result. I have now (successfully) complained about the website's failure to record my feelings. I await the results with interest.

Got an email back from Cadbury saying sorry I'm having trouble finding the product in shops. I've put them right!

They will probably send you a few bars, as an apology, that the one you bought was not to your satisfaction. 😱:D

They sent me a ?3 voucher. :D Now I need to work out what to spend it on! Bassett's Jelly Babies maybe? I never get hypos, so they would be pure indulgence!

How about a nice bar of caramel chocolate, the soft gooey caramel smothered in Cadbury's dairy milk choc 🙂, or less carbs may be a bar of fruit and nut. :D

A bar or two of Green & Blacks sour cherry chocolate?

I'm thinking along the lines of Curly Wurly - maybe a multipack to be kept in the freezer, with change left over for whatever takes my fancy. Blow the carbs, we're talking about my weekly treat here! :D

P.S. The voucher is just for Cadbury's (and brands that they own).
