Do you still have white coat syndrome? If so does your blood pressure differ greatly from your home readings to that in the surgery? My blood pressure is always higher at the docs! Sorry to keep asking questions😱

Most definitely! My home readings are consistently around 110/70 and will shoot up to 160/100 at the GPs 😱 I've shown my readings to the GP though, and she accepts that I'm OK and don't need extra meds (I'm on a low dose of candesartan). Do you have a home BP monitor?

Ask as many questions as you like! 🙂

Hi Sebstar
I know you asked northerner the question so hope you don't mind me joining in 🙂....
I used to get white coat syndrome and bought a BP machine and my home readings were always Within normal range. When I'm at the hosp now And get my BP checked I always close my eyes and do visualisation techniques and you know what .... It's worked ! My BP readings at the hosp are now always within the normal range, because I shut my mind off and relax, I don't know if it will work for you obviously but you could certainly give it a go . Good luck .

Thanks Northerner I'm exactly the same my nurse uses my figures. I just hope my monitor is accurate tho sometimes I compare with another monitor I have to see if they about the same. To be honest the whole review thing stresses me out and now am worried about my cholesterol. I am seriously thinking of not having them and just getting on with my life!

Hi Cleo no I don't mind you answering my question I asked Northerner because I know he has mentioned white coat syndrome on here before. I don't think your method would work for because I just get so stressed about it. Thanks anyway🙂

Take it to the docs with you, if both machines get the same reading - doesn't matter at all in this scenario what the reading actually is! - then it's as accurate as their machine!

Why are you worried about your Cholesterol? I'm sorry - I just don't subscribe to all the mumbo jumbo spoken by medics about cholesterol generally.

Have a look for something called 'The Great Cholesterol Con' by Malcolm Kendrick.

And then make your own mind up.

Hi Trophywench I went for my review yesterday and my cholesterol was up from 5 to 5.6 was advised to Dr to discuss increasing statins. Will read what you recommend 🙂
