Another nightmare patient here
I'm sure pre-pump days my consultant heart sank when he saw my name on his list heheh....
It took over 25 weeks to get a consultation, due to being mucked about as sent to see the wrong person, and no medical records etc etc...
So the first time I met him I was blunt and to the point, I felt like my name had been flagged with 'keep this women out of clinic she wants a pump' and warned him don't give me any bull**** as I wouldn't be taking any!
Then proved my point when NICE guidelines came up, he went to bring them up on his computer, I said don't bother as this is what they say, and the PCT can't pick or choose what elements they will use to determine whether they will fund or not
🙂
Give my consultant his dues though, he has always worked with me never against me, mind you now I've got my insulin pump he actually enjoys seeing me and wow's over my control. I'm a bit of a star pupil when it comes to pumps..
As he said to me once, I am the expert in my diabetes, he's there to keep an eye on things, help and explain different things to me that are either new or I don't quite understand etc...
