Had an appointment with my doctor today to discuss my meds. About 3 weeks ago I had my first hypo, doc asked that when I went for a routine blood test to have a finger prick and HbA1c done. Finger prick was 17.8 HbA1c was up from 6.6 to 7.7 . Doctor could not understand why and so today has finally given me a test meter and a chat with our new practice diabetes nurse (very nice person) Metformin was also raised to 1000mg 2x a day.
I saw the nurse and she says for the rest of this week take the Metformin 1 in morning and 2 in the evening and wants me to test just once a day,so, today I test before lunch, tomorrow before dinner then the next day before bed etc. I have to call her in 2/3 weeks time to discuss results it maybe they have to add to the meds but not sure what yet. Finger prick 2 hours after breakfast today was 14.3. Watch this space 🙂
