Hi guys, I'm new to this site and was wondering if any one has ever had he same problems as me...
I have had type 1 diabetes since I was 4 years old and I am now 28. I've been very lucky in that I have never had any major problems, no hospital admissions and generally really good control.
Recently my HBA1C have been really high, and I've simply lost control of my blood sugars! I'm either really low or really high and just can't get the balance. I've changed my insulin type, changed doses and literally tried everything! Nothing seems to be working.
When talking to my diabetes team, we think the problem is my insulin absorption - so I've been referred for the insulin pump!
Although I have never been too keen on having the pump, I do feel this would enable me to have better control, which is obviously what I want!
I've been waiting to hear about my referral for the pump for a long time now and all I seem to be getting told is that "we haven't been able to contact the person we need to" etc etc, but try changing this dose, try changing that dose.
I just getting a little frustrated as I've tried everything and I am still trying everything, and I'm still no closer to the solution.
Has anyone else had a similar problem or is anyone on the insulin pump and could give me a little more information?
Thanks so much
