...in the surgery today. I went back to my GP to get some more antibiotics as my UTI had returned.

Anyway, she was very pleased to see me as she said the surgery were considering setting up a consultation thing for people with diabetes, and she thought of me, as I was positive and had done well etc. etc., and would I like to be one of the facilitators, along with a clinical person?
Oo-er! She said they hadn't got to details yet, but it won't be very often (say, once a quarter), and it would be during the day at the surgery. So I said I'd think about it and let her know asap.

Anyone else involved in such a thing?

No but it does sound as if it might be positive...any indication of what it will involve yet PM.

Sounds great Pine Marten. The only thing Ive done similar was at work last year when I was contacted by our occupational health team and asked to give some talks on my experiences.

I think it might be along those lines, Stitch, talking about my experience and encouraging others - as well as promoting this lovely place, of course! :D

I do talk to friends, including some who have recently been told they are pre-diabetic, so the idea of giving sensible advice to others (instead of the dreaded 'Eatwell plate') is appealing. I shall ponder it some more and see if they will have any more details worked out soon 🙂
