Well I have lost 15 lb since 19th Oct and blood glucose been pretty perfect...last few days hungry all the time even though eating well....ended up having an unsatiable requirement for carbs. I did what I never did before I was diagnosed and sat and ate the remainder of a pack of biscuits and had a wholemeal almond butter and jam biscuit and a tangerine...felt exhausted slept for 2 hours got up and took BM 6.6! LOL....I am beginning to think am not diabetic at all and the hunger is the glicozide intefering...I did have an infection and was on an antibiotic that cause increase in blood sugar when first tested...I admit I did had symptoms looking back all summer extreme fatigue worse than fibro fatigue and dry mouth and thirst worse than the fibro meds every caused and these have gone now... Still one good thing....at least its made me take a trip to the loo what with the metforming....I reckon I might need to do this more often LOL!

That is a cracking weight loss fantastic.
I am mystified at what can make people put weight on or lose weight when the opposite seems more logical. My other half was in hospital for 2 weeks with virtually nil by mouth but on a nutrient drip and managed to put on nearly 5kg,
much to his annoyance, it must have been mostly fluid I suppose. But he lost it pretty quickly, thank goodness.

I too had a binge eating day today. I have been struggling with anxiety and panic attacks the past few days and really wanted to comfort eat but kept a lid on it until today. The problem has been made worse by needing to go shopping but not being able to so I am completely out of low carb comfort food, no milk, cream, cheese...which has been my new chocolate since diagnosis.
First I hit a loaf of No added sugar wholemeal bread that has been in the freezer for over a year untouched.... so needed using up. It was far too stale to make a sarnie and i parted with my toaster when I stopped eating bread, so I fried 3 slices in sausage fat and then spread them with Marmite. Still ravenous, I had 2 multigrain crackers with butter, followed by another 2 and then I found a box of All Bran in the back of the cupboard (best before date was May 2020!!) Tipped some into a bowl with some Erythritol and then thought stuff this I might as well have proper sweetness, so drizzled a bit of honey on, then I dug around in another cupboard and found a tin of coconut milk (that might actually have been in date because I use it to make cauliflower and Halloumi curry) so I poured some of that on the All Bran and guzzled that.... All the while injecting a few units of insulin and then a few more and then a few more as I continued to find things to consume.
Seems odd feeling guilty about eating wholemeal bread and AllBran and I managed it with my insulin really well thanks to Libre, but it was the fact that I lost control and just guzzled which I feel really bad about.... and that I ate so many carbs and had to inject lots of insulin which the NHS has to pay for.

I have made a big pan of spicy butternut squash soup this evening though so hopefully I will be able to just keep dipping into that when I feel the urge until this phase is over. It is probably because I am missing my high fat intake (ie creamy yoghurt and cream in coffee and cheese, that I finally lost control.

Sounds like you got away with it pretty well too, so hopefully we will both do better tomorrow.

Huge congrats on the weight loss! That is a fantastic achievement!

It makes you wonder why it happens. Having said that, i have just had my Sunday roast which was mostly chicken and veg I made home made spicy red cabbage yesterday and used skinny maple syrup in it with no sugar other than from apples. It was good and I have frozen some. I put four potatoes on plate but could only eat 3 so . I am now full and satisfied, and usually by now I would be clock watching til supper time, but am in fact fine so my body must have needed it! I am glad I have no cholesterol issues but I am fed up that the guidelines keep lowering the levels. I watched Statin Nations 1 and first part of Satin Nations 2 yesterday.....and how money has been passed from big pharmas to doctors to say we all need statins and so the levels get lower when in actual fact people who have higher cholesterol untreated live longer.....its worj watching on Youtube. ....its like our diets the low fat high carb diet is a big fat lie those doctors got paid off too.
