Over the past couple of weeks several people have told me I'm too skinny and should put some weight on :( Yes, I know perfectly well I'm looking a bit gaunt and haggard, but all the people who have said this know perfectly well that I'm diabetic and need to keep the weight off. Also, at 63, I think I'm entitled to look gaunt 😉 Hey ho, maybe increase my daily cheese allowance? Sorry, just needed to get this off my chest somewhere people will understand! Thanks for listening folks x

I've had people say that to me as well. I think it was because they were used to seeing me overweight for so long they found it strange. A few have since commented they're used to it. Having said that, I was looking gaunt at one point!

I know the feeling well @Vonny, Even my dietician and my DN have told me I need to put on weight and advised me I need to eat more carbs, you just can't win sometimes! I'm 78 with a BMI of 19.8 what I need is more fat.......

I think also sometimes your skin can need to recover after losing weight. An online friend posted photos on Facebook a few years back after she'd lost weight, and I thought she looked a lot older (didn't tell her that of course, she was very happy with how she was looking). She hasn't (as far as I know) regained the weight, but her face looks much healthier now and not older than her years any more. (I don't think she's had cosmetic injections either but I can't be certain!)

I have always been slim but still have had people telling me I need to put on weight. Whilst I am a healthy weight, unfortunately, this is becoming less common so I appear thin. I was recently shocked to find that as a woman of average height with a healthy bmi, some clothes brands consider me XXS and some brands just don’t go small enough.
I judge myself by what I consider healthy and advise you to do the same.

People don't like it when people change.

When people try this with me I just tell them to go eat a donut.

You have my sympathy I had so much of that it was very upsetting. I also had 'are you ok you have lost alot of weight?'when i said i was fine, that wasn't good enough and had the gentle touch on my arm, the eyes looking at me with great concern to be followed with 'are you sure?' Not yet finished. I explained all was ok and thank u for asking This was followed by a disbelieving 'well if you say so' God help me I wanted to tell everyone of them to mind their own business and to **** off. I was also intrigued what they would say if I had something far more serious i expect they would run for the hills and cross over when they saw me again. I thought about it hard and found a way to deal with it I remembered the chief culprits and when I saw them again i would ask how they were and then I would say are you ok you look awfully tired. Revenge is a dish best served cold. I will probably rot in hell. Hey ho.

A far more polite response than mine...
