No problems, thankyou everyone for the helpful information,i rang the nurse yesterday,as they prescribed me 60mg & 30mg tablets, she told me to drop the 30mg and just take the 60mg.Then she said the 3.5 bg level, that she had written down for me on a postit note was too low,a little bit worrying.
many thanks regards dan.....................

Hi Danny and welcome. I was diagnosed type 2 last year and it's a shock to the system and a steep learning curve. Sounds that you're doing well in the initial weeks despite your nurse setting you pretty impossible levels to achieve at first! NICE (health) guidelines for a type 2 are below 7 before eating (fasting) and no more than 8.5 two hours following a meal. Obviously lower is better and the aim is to keep figures level without too many spikes. I've yet to drop below 5 however and my last Hba1c was at pre-diabetic level.
I've managed to control my diabetes with diet only so can't advise on medication. Hope you continue to do well and best wishes. Keep asking questions and learning from the experiences of others on here.
