Hi all

Lots about this on radio recently thanks to Chris Evans. Downloaded it and read it last night. Author is adamant diabetes can be reversed in 8 weeks on an 800 calorie a day diet.

I'm sure if I tried this I would have umpteen hypos.

Very interested to hear other people's views.

Should be 8 week blood sugar diet!

I have done around 600 calories (low carb too) a day for almost 3 weeks now. After two weeks I had lost 12lbs. Waking level from 11.0 down to around 7.5.
I thought I would try to "(reverse)" although I'm not sure how long I can maintain it. Hopefully I can reduce levels and lose some weight in order to stay diet controlled, as the doctor wants to give me metaformin.

What were you eating????

I Dont think it's recommended for people on drugs like Gliclazide, or other things that stimulate your pancreas to produce more insulin, I think you would have hypos on it.

You would go hypo if you continued to take the same medication as when eating your usual diet. It needs to be done with the consent and cooperation of your doctor, I am sure.

Could you keep it up though? I don't think I could. No point then, healthy eating has to be for life for us imho. 🙂
