A St Mary’s man says he battled on against weather of “biblical proportions” to complete a 100 mile charity cycle ride around London yesterday.
70-year-old Steve Watt finished the Ride London-Surrey 100 circuit in around five and half hours, an hour quicker than he had expected and just 20 minutes behind his son James who is 38 years younger.
Steve said a huge thunderstorm hit around the 26-mile mark at Hampton Court. He waited for about 20 minutes for it to stop but decided to carry on and press through, even though the winds were strong and the road surface was dangerous.

Well done that man! 🙂
