I've been using the 5mm needles I was wrongly given rather than my 8mm.

I've not bled, bruised or been in pain using them compared to my 8's.

I wish I'd of used them sooner

Good to hear! I guess you are withdrawing your offer to give them away then? 😉

Yup, might ask at my prescription review tomorrow to put them on instead of my 8's.
I don't fancy using the 4mm tho (I'm sending them to IDDT)

I had the same trouble with the eights. Fives are brill.

I've always used 5mm and only just discovered there were smaller ones so I'm now on the 4mm, even if I was told that they are really for babies and toddlers 😉 Although to start with they seemed to hurt more now I think they're even better for my delicate and easily bruised skin 😉 xx

Seriosly, I am a medium fattish person and I find the 4mm do even more for me in terms of absorption!

Good that you've got rid of the 8mm Laura... not THAT long since I ditched em!

I'm just worried that the insulin isn't getting in as far as the 8mm.

I'm covered in bruises from the 8mm so if the 5mm stop that ill be happy

So have you noticed HUGE differences in your BGs since you started on 5mm Laura?

If you haven't I'd suggest they are fine and stop stressing. Stress in itself will put BGs up

I'd have thought the 8mms would push the insulin into the fat, where the 4mms would put them just under the skin (sub-dermis???) Isn't the blood supply actually better there?

I'm ill so my sugars are all to pot, I'm hoping my sugars soon behave & I can get a better picture of what's going on

At my last visit to the nurse she commented that I was too slim to be on the 8mm's and put me on to 4mm Almost eliminated bruising pain and 🙂 bleeding that I've accepted as normal for 10 years !

Well I took bleeding as normal, I do wonder if I was slimmer if that would help matters?

I'm curvy, certainly not slim and I use the 4mm, they are fab, most of the time I feel nothing and I never have any bruising or bleeding. Take the plunge and give them a go!
