A recent Cambridge study has found that Type 2 Diabetes increases the risk of no less than 57 medical issues / complications. But can't copy the
link. Anybody got the reference ?
I don't think it's been presented yet, it's still to be peer reviewed
But it looks like it's an association, not always a cause.
For instance, type 2 quite often goes with being "overweight and inactive" so
"other health conditions, including cancer, kidney disease and neurological illnesses" could also go with that lifestyle, not directly with diabetes I suspect.
Although some are directly related, line eye problems.
They’ve got it arse about face, it’s all those other conditions that predispose to develop diabetes. That’s the trouble with associations rather than causations, as @travellor suggests.
