50 years Medal.

Today I received my 50 years of living with T1 Alan Nabarro medal. I’m still here. Still going strong. After suffering the 70s, 80s and half of the 90s before the technology really kicked in, my complications have all disappeared. It’s a battle to stay 94% in target , but I’m on it. I’m beating all the algorithms. It’s been far from easy but I’m giving myself a pat on the back. I’m aiming for my 60 year medal. Plodding on.

Wow that's fantastic particularly as technology for diabetic technology has come on leaps and bounds and it must have been so challenging for you in the past!

Congratulations @JanieMac what an achievement.

Congratulations @JanieMac - great stuff!

Here’s to smashing your next Diabetes Decade

.... I think you mean next Diabetes Half-Century
No I’m pretty sure there’s a medal for 60 years as well as 50 🙂

The Nabarro medal at 50 years
The Lawrence medal at 60

Then there are 70 and 80 year ones!
