I know I've had a rough 10 days due to grandad being in hospital & sadly dying but my bloods are all over the place.

Was having a hypo & didn't know it (I was 2.2 with no signs)
But my bloods are now 4.6 & I feel like how I do when my bloods go over 10 (constantly thirsty, wanting to urinate more etc)

Could it be possible due to emotional stress that my body doesn't know what to do in terms of my diabetes?

Can anyone help?

First of all, my sympathies on the loss of your grandfather. What an awful time.

Could it be that your BGs (although 4.6 at the moment) have been much higher over the past hours? That's a bit of a no-brainer because stress often raises BGs. Plus the thirst and wanting to urinate are usually reflecting what has happened 2 hours ago and not what's happening right now.

Thank you.

My bloods haven't been higher than 8.8 today & that was my waking bloods.

I feel low now but my bloods haven't moved from 4.6.

If your bloods have been low for a prolonged period (Especially that low) maybe its that a sudden rise to the 4s and 5s could make you feel like your high? I get it the other way round, if ive had a bad day in the 9s and 10s or above, and finally manage to get it down to the 5s and 6s, I get hypo symtoms.

I think theres also some physcological stuff behind it... I often get the symtoms of highs and lows mixed up. I can feela little low - test my bg, and im actually high, then suddenly because I now know im high I start to feel high, its like my brain starts to realise whats actually going on & gets the symtoms right..!

Kick all your emotions and stress into the mix and youve got a mixed up set of emotions and symtoms. I think sometimes weve got to rememebr that we arnt just diabetic... We are normal humans too. Are we thirsty because we are high? Or is it just because I havnt had a drink all day?

Sorry to hear about your grandad - Hope your OK.

Really sorry to hear about your grandad.
If you have a spare meter would it be worth double checking?

Sadly I don't have a spare meter but I always wash my hands really well to prevent false readings

You should ask your DSN for a spare - you don't want to be left not being able to test if your meter fails 😱
