I can generally handle sweet potatoes ok in moderation. Well, bought some sweet potato fries from Sainsbury's. When I bought Aunt Bessies, they were 22g carb per portion, so didn't bother looking at carbs. Just put some in the oven & looked at catb content. 35g carb per portion! Looked at ingredients & they are full of loads of really bad stuff. Just a warning. These are Sainsbury's own.

It's often the case with different brands of anything Mark, been there done that etc LOL

There are so many tasty foods which could be eaten instead - one portion of sweet potato or a huge salad with tomato celery radishes coleslaw half a bag of green mixed leaves, spicy dressing and then berries and cream to follow - no contest for me.

I wonder if this is anything to do with different retailers or manufacturers use different varieties of a particular product and each variety has it's own characteristics, Take peas for example, I know that the earlier you pick them the sweeter they are! One variety of potato is more suitable for baking, another is more suitable for chips.
It could also be due to the way they are prepared. This is only my theory and I could be way off target. Who says diabetes was easy🙂

Nah! It's not warm enough yet.:D

I love salad and happily eat it as long as it's warm enough but when I'm having trouble keeping your skin warm on the outside the thought of feeding the inside of it cold food, fails to appeal to me, either!

I may have a bit of chutney or sliced tomato out of the fridge on a sandwich - but that's as far as it goes this time of year chez moi.

A warming casserole with a few potatoes with just 20g CHO just suits this cold weather.

Sweet potatoes are often coated with flour when made into fries as it helps them stay whole in the hot fat.
Not all varieties though and some will use more than others. That will probably explain the difference,

I found this also Mark between Aunt Bessies swede and Morrisons own. Morrisons which much higher, cannot recall the number sorry.

Aunt bessies are a lot lower. These Sainsbury's ones were coated. Shame, as they were really nice.

I nearly did the same Mark, nearly bought from Aldi and huge number of carbs. Aunt Bessie’s with carrots and parsnips much lower.
