Hi guys, just thought I'd let you know I had my 2nd HbA1c today - can't believe how anxious I was beforehand but once bloods we're taken I became incredibly calm - I suppose its the 'what will be will be' attitude that I've found that is helping....

Nurse also took bloods for full kidney count but isn't checking my cholesterol...not quite sure why; I did ask but she said she wasn't asked to and my current number is 4.8 (good if you're a non diabetic).

Have DN appointment in 2 weeks so will raise it then...

The past 3 months have been a rollercoaster; I've managed to lose nearly 3 stone in weight; have increased my physical activity; eye-test was good; foot check was good; and I even forced myself to go the dentist...😱

If it wasn't for you guys I wouldn't have known where to start...your support; encouragement and suggestions have helped me to better understand what I need to do for myself - THANK YOU.XX🙂

Well done Amanda, and its not all us, you can lead a horse to water etc 🙂

Good work Amanda 🙂 I know what you mean about feeling more relaxed once the blood has actually been taken - I felt exactly the same when mine was taken recently! I think it is because you know that from that point on you can't influence the result in any way by doing anything at all - it's in the lap of the gods! I'm sure you'll do fine - when do you get the results?

Well done Amanda, looking forward to your results. By the way I should not worry about a chol result of 4.8 - it's fine for anyone diabetic or not. I should be extremely worried if mine went lower than that. Chol is an important substance that you can't live without, I despair at the way it's labelled as a "poison". Without it we could not function. It feeds your brain and strengthens your muscles, including your heart, which is nothing more than a large muscle 🙂

My DN appointment isn't until the 7th December so in a couple of weeks - I'm determined to lose the 1.5lb I need to lose. DN didn't think I could lose the weight before our appointment...🙂

I must admit once bloods we're taken I was so tempted to have something naughty to eat but I could'nt do it so - I'll wait until Christmas day......🙂

Thank you - I have so much to learn and plenty of time..... xx🙂

Hi Amanda

You have done BRILLIANTLY and I am so proud of you! I'm sure your results will show this too. Thank you to you too for being such a support and inspiration to me🙂 I know I've been absent for a couple of weeks due to other commitments, but I'm back with a vengeance now and am sure I'll need you to help me get back on track! Love and hugs to you!:Dx

The best thing I did was joining this forum; I've learnt a lot but still have a lot to learn and along the way have met some incredible people... thank you. xx🙂

Hello stranger; so glad you're back :D hope you had a fab couple of weeks - I'm getting closer to that yummy mummy title for christmas...a beautiful Karen Millen dress has my name on it....love and hugs to you too....xx🙂

I couldn't wait for mine, so 'phoned up for the results.

I'm sure you will be pleased Amanda and deserving of your new dress.🙂

I'll be phoning up for mine as well! Usually I give it 3 working days then give the surgery a poke.

I don't want to predict anything in case I'm disappointed but I'm hoping (finger's/toes crossed) my 2nd Hba1c is lower than 7.2... I'm going to wait until my DN appointment (7th December) and then I'll let you know...thank you guys for all your support. Amanda x 🙂

Have some goodthings to look forward to: computerised exam on December
12th same day as wedding anniversary and celebrating that with a weekend in the Cotswolds...🙂
