My sons 2nd birthday is in April i would like some suggestions on what party food i could do for him and his friends. Also suggestions on what i could put in the party bags.
If you don't know by now, my son is type 1.

Thanks in advance x

I never had to worry about T1 when my kids were little (son developed it at 13), but I did do lots of parties and tried to provide a few healthier things amongst all the jammy dodgers, choc cake and hula hoops ... 🙄
Some were carb free or quite low:
cocktail sausages
cherry tomatoes
baby bels cut up into triangles
cucumber sticks
satsuma pieces
popcorn (microwave one is really easy)
fridge raiders
mini pepperoni
strips of fried chicken
pinwheel pizzas (buy a sheet of puff pastry, spread on tomato paste and cheese and anything else you like, roll up like a swiss roll, slice and bake. Not too many carbs per slice - about 10 if I remember)
grapes & carrot sticks too, quite carby but kids do seem to like them

Ha ha, I sound like Annabel Karmel ... I'm not really ... can't stand it when she says 'my children always walk right past the treat tin and reach for the fruit bowl'

As to party bags ... I used to raid Woolies but don't know where I'd start now!!

Thanks for the suggestions 🙂

I'll probs raid poundland and asda for party bag stuff 🙂

Awe - hope he has a lovely party, can't add to Willsmum's suggestions.

Millie is at a soft play party this Sunday which will be rather interesting, lots of activity and not sure what food is on, will have to wing it 😱:D

Party bags don't have to contain sweets. Places like Tesco sell loads of party bag things in multipacks, mini yoyos, party blower thingys, novelty pencils, erasers, pencil toppers, small bouncy balls, even little matchbox type cars at less than ?1 each if you want to be a little more extravagant. You could always put their slice of birthday cake in the party bags to help fill them up if need be, most children don't get round to eating the birthday cake at the party anyway!

I know this might sound a bit mad, but my little'uns love humous... Could use cucumber slices, carrot battons or breadstick to dip? Hope you all have a lovely day! X
