Hi guys,

I`m Bekki and I am a type one diabetic.
Only found out on the 27th of June 😱 so kinda new to all this! 🙂

Just wanted to say hi, I'm glad I found this site it will be nice to be able to talk through some things with people and have a place for support :D

Bit about me?
I am 22 at uni doing history and philosophy of art. I am on my uni sports cheerleading team and LOVE horse ridding =).

Bekki

Hi Becky and a warm welcome to the forum you will quickly find we are a great bunch of people not scary at all 🙂

What insulin regime are you on

Welcome Becky_boo.

I guess you're on vacation from university now? As you mention a couple of sports, you might find it useful to look at http://www.runsweet.com/ for general principles; the only equestrian sport mentioned is polo!

Hi Bekki and welcome to the club no one wanted to join!

This is a great place for help and support, if you have any questions shout up, someone will always help 🙂

What insulin regime are you following?

Dan

Hi Bekki!

Sorry to hear you've had to join our little gang.

Just like you I was diagnosed while away studying an arts degree (aged 21 in my case).

20-odd years later and I've still got both eyes, all my feet and most of my marbles.

D can be a pain to live with but it *is* something you can control and make fit into a (relatively) normal life :D

Just keep asking questions, testing BGs, counting your carbs and chasing the moving goalposts 🙄

Welcome Bekki!!!

Hi Bekki,

Welcome to the forum, I was diagnosed a couple of days before you, although it took them until the 27th to finally decided I was type 1. I am just waiting for the phone call to change me back to a 2....

You have found a good site with lots of good advice.

Cheers

Lee
