Carol and I went to clinic yesterday for the 2 week after pump start check up. Carol’s HbA1C was 7.7% 4 weeks ago. Today it was 7.2%!!!!!!!!!
The consultant told Carol to make a few basal changes. Let’s hope the night readings are going down now.
On top of that, on the way there Carol did a blood test on the train and promptly lost the tester afterwards. Well, I got a phone yesterday evening from the city train station to say they’ve got the machine and I could go and pick it up. I asked him how long they’d keep it, as I don’t go there very often. He said 1 week, but if I go to our train station, he’ll bring it with him at 10pm on his way home.
There were 4 people on the platform waiting and I was the only female. So it was very easy for the gentleman to identify me. All I can say, thank goodness there was a prescription slip in the side pocket and there are still some kind people around. The funny thing is, that Carol only had that particular tester since last week. It was a replacement for the one that decided to change the time by itself every now and then. Luckily I put the new tester in the old wallet (I had to send the broken tester back, so they can see why, but they didn’t want the wallet).
After changing the basals yesterday, Carol was 3.3 at midnight, 4.4 45 min. later (wanted to test 15 min, but fell asleep, ooops), 5.5 at 3am and 6.6 in the morning LOL
