AN ELEVEN per cent rise in cases in just one year has kept Blaenau Gwent at the top of the diabetes table.
New figures announced by health charity Diabetes UK Cymru show 531 people were told they had the condition in the area during the last year, meaning 4,755 people are now diagnosed with diabetes in Blaenau Gwent.
For the third year, the area has continued to have the highest percentage of people diagnosed with the condition in Wales, with around one in 16 people ? 6.5% ? now living with diabetes.
