NHS bosses wasted more than £46million of taxpayers’ money last year on more than one thousand pointless jobs including an art curator and a car park environmental officer, a damning report claims today.
A staggering £36million was squandered on 826 spin doctors, according to the TaxPayers’ Alliance.
Meanwhile £6.8million was frittered away on salaries for 165 equality and diversity staff.
A further £3.5million was splashed out on 86 “green” staff.
The money could have paid for 1,662 full time nurses instead, claimed the Alliance.
It singled out 1,129 “unnecessary” bureaucrats employed by the NHS.
