Hi all,
I’ve just joined this group so a big hello! Im 28 originally from Scotland and living in London. Looking for new friends in London with a mutual interest.. diabetes.. to socialise in the new world.
I’ve been a Type 1for over 10 years with a sporadic and very out of control HbA1C ranging upwards to around 14mmol.
I managed to control my HbA1C during lock down and reduced this to 6.9mmol which was a huge achievement for me, unfortunately I was asked to shield which meant things didn’t go great for me physically. I resented my condition for a long time and always believed it stopped me from achieving things in life. I’m now 28 and I’ve realised my condition is part of me and something to be proud off unfortunately, as I’m sure you all know it hits you and I’m sure you all know about the low moments in life.
Anyway, looking forward to speaking!
Ewan
