Does changing over insulin have an effect on bs?

Used the levemir for the first time last night - 10.8 not seen morning readings like that since diagnosis.

Or could this be a sign of pregnancy ! Or not confused

I've only ever been on the same insulins since diagnosis, but from reading others experiences there can be a period of working out the right dose - it doesn't necessarily equate to your previous insulin's dose. Hope it's a sign of pregnancy though! 🙂

Thanks northy I do hope so to - still got a week to wait!

The worry is of I am not my bs are way to high currently - some eve's have been as high as 15.9 xxx

Different insulins work in slightly different ways, so sometimes you may find that 1Unit of type a doesn't hjave exactly the same effect for you as 1unit of type b.

Also, there are loads of variables with diabetes, and so sometimes there are just high readings for seemingly no good reason.

Good luck with the pregnancy, our son was 7 weeks old yesterday...
