    Low GI bread

I noticed in my local LIDL that they do an uncut 'low GI' wholemeal cob. I was wondering if this might be a suitable substitute for other wholemeal bread. I checked their website but there is not much info about the product e.g. nutrients per 100g. Does anyone here have any info about this or...

    Lidl Bread

In LIDL, I bought the fresh large uncut "Low GI Multiseed" loaf (from the fresh bakery section) plus their factory made "Wholemeal Seeded" sliced and bagged Rowan hill loaf. The Rowan hill gives Carb and Sugar infos on bag but nothing advises about the fresh bakery loaf. Anyone got any...

    DIY wholewheat bread

I have to ask if someone has already made bread at home using a Kitchenaid and an electric (or LPG) oven. I have found some recipes but they are always quite different. I'd like to use only whole wheat, salt, yeast water and some sugar to awake the yeast, because I'm not sure if other things...

Burgen Soya & Linseed Vs Hovis Nimble Wholemeal ..

I always hear everyone talking about the Burgen loaf as being the goto bread , I would wish to introduce a new loaf slightly lower in carbs and lower in kcals, and it's nowhere near as expensive, it's the the Hovis Nimble Wholemeal and I would say the hovis is a slightly bigger peice of...

    Homemade wholemeal bread experiences?

I've tried to make some wholeeal bread reallu old school, only wholemeal flour, beer yeast salt and water, waited four hours for the rise, made the loafs, waited another hour for the rise and baked. The interesting thing is that when I buy the integral bread at the mall I've found that I have...

    Tom Kerridge Almond Bread

From his Dopamine Diet cookbook that I know a number of you have bought. Not quite bread, but halfway between bread and cake but at 2g per slice. It's actually very tasty, I was worried about the ground Linseed but it just seems to taste a bit nutty. Didn't use the coconut flour as I didn't...

    Tesco High Protein Loaf

10g carb per slice and it works for me.

    Warburton's protein bread

has anyone tried this? My OH got me some to try as I can't always get the Lidl high protein rolls. I tried a "thin" for breakfast with peanut butter in place of cereal. 14g carbs. Results inconclusive at the moment. It wasn't all that interesting, but I can imagine it would make good soldiers...

    Rye Bread

I fancied a change from burgen so I thought I would try some German Rye bread - Schneiderbrot Vollkornbrot Rye Bread. Not low carb at around 19g per slice but low GI. A nice flatish BG profile for me.

The myth of low carb bread...

In my attempt to cut carbs I have been looking very closely at bread. And I have decided it's all a complete con - there is no such thin as 'low carb bread'. Here is my reasoning all per 100g: Average white bread loaf has 45g of carbs Average wholemeal loaf has 40g of carbs Average 'danish'...
