    Mounjaro- Insulin Sensitivity ✅

Finally! Diagnosed T2 2021 This year is the first time I can report that my body reacts to Insulin; ever since starting taking Mounjaro! It may not be a magic bullet, but alongside tightening up and diagnosing - • I’ve also pretty much stopped drinking alcohol, down from daily, to once a...

    Stopping insulin ?

...getting hypos ? I was myself previously taking Trulicity, however it kind of never did the job for me, @rebrascora is correct I’ve been on Mounjaro now for a year and I’ve posted a bit about how I’ve been reducing the insulin currently I’m actually not taking any NovaMix, after much...

    Stopping insulin ?

...need to do more perhaps with your diet to come off insulin unless you are only on very small doses. @goodybags is on a similar medication Mounjaro and has been gradually reducing his insulin doses as he has seen his levels reduce and is hoping to perhaps come off insulin altogether but I...

Local surgery post about not being able to prescribe Mounjaro solely for weight loss

Wegovy and Mounjaro are already available on prescription from GPs but you have to meet very specific criteria to get access to them this way. Trust me, there is no such things as 'wraparound care' when you are given these drugs. You are given an instruction leaflet on how to administer it but...

    Hi from a newcomer

hi @Donzol welcome thanks for tagging me in @everydayupsanddowns when you say your on Mounjaro for “weight loss” but your also T2 I’m kinda thinking from that you might be on (as some on here are) private prescription as apposed to being prescribed it as part of your Diabetic control? not a...

Local surgery post about not being able to prescribe Mounjaro solely for weight loss

"Weight loss injections We are aware of recent national news that Mounjaro is now available on the NHS as a weight loss medication. However, we must inform patients that Mounjaro is still NOT available on prescription from general practice for weight loss. To prevent our service from becoming...

Mounjaro Monday - Week 23 update

...the counterbalance - but I’ve dropped to 95kg so I’m no longer maxing out the machine. May not sound much but I’m super pleased with that. Mounjaro wise, I haven’t got too much to report other than the usual bit of constipation. I’m trying to up my water intake this week, which should help...

    Surprised Hypo

...So my threshold has lowered somewhat. Needs some close monitoring me thinks. Will up the frequency of checking to see where I am during the day and what and by how much food is or isn't affecting things. One side effect though is I've lost nearly a stone in weight since being on the mounjaro.

    Mounjaro Backwards Spiral

I think this was your previous thread @suzanna valentine, if it helps https://forum.diabetes.org.uk/boards/threads/mounjaro-advice-please.116435/ Sorry to hear the dose which was working so well for you has been halved. It does seem counter-intuitive. I wonder if you could contact the...

    Surprised Hypo

No worries. They did talk about insulin reduction may be necessary when going on mounjaro. Will discuss this with the diabetes nurse at my next planned visit unless it keeps happening, I'll make on sooner.

    Surprised Hypo

Ok I asked regarding your MJ dose, because as I hope they made you aware as you increase the dose of MJ you will most likely need to reduce the insulin It might be worth mentioning to your DSN (or GP) of the sudden hypo you experienced as they might agree to get CGM on prescription

    Surprised Hypo

Hi @goodybags am currently on 5ml on the mounjaro which I've been on for about 2 months now. It has been really helpful for me as it has helped with more consistent readings. Nope, don't have a Libra. Could be the weather, who knows.

    Surprised Hypo

Hi @Meady One thing I noticed from your post your on Mounjaro, have you recently increased the MJ dose also the warmer weather as have suggested it could be down to the warmer weather, do you have a Libra ?

    Surprised Hypo

Good that you are OK now, people do seem to have been getting odd things happening probably due to the hot weather meaning people can become dehydrated fairly quickly without realising and that can cause unexpected highs or lows.
