I went for my first one on Monday - all very efficient and straightforward. Information sent to me said the results would be posted within 6 weeks but actually received them yesterday! I’m assuming that is more efficient than before lockdown and I’ve benefited from there being a break and so no backlog of results. Very reassuring to know there are no problems with my eyes.

Over tha last few years I have had my Eye screening results with in a week. Though many are not getting their screening this year. Mine was cancelled in April, and as I have had no previous signs of problems it will not happen till next year.
 
Bit concerned about mine because I usually get mine done every 3 months and not yearly as part of my ophthalmology appointments at the hospital as I suffer with various eye issues and registered partially sighted. Since lockdown until now I’ve missed nearly three appointments because their not running all their clinics.

I thought most places were doing high risk appointments.

I just keep getting letters saying unless I’m concerned about anything in particular that my appointment is cancelled.
 
“Unless you are concerned the appointment is cancelled”
So if you are concerned, which you said you are, get in touch and tell them that and then surely the appointment will have to go ahead!

My daughter was due for her eye check in July, we got a letter saying that as her previous one showed no problems the next has been postponed until next May. In the meantime they are prioritising the people who do have problems or need help. Fair enough I think.
 
I’m concerned the appointments keep getting cancelled yes but not concerned about my eye health or have any new symptoms.

If you do get worried about anything or you notice a change @MarkGeordie do phone them for an appointment, as the more regular appointments indicate that you are already oat higher risk. I wonder whether the person doing the cancellations is just working from the list and does not know your background. Well worth a call.

Mine normally happens in July but I have heard nothing this year.
 
I was told in June I would get a letter soon and it arrived last week.
It’s 10th September and I have to go to the hospital.
Before we moved I went to specsavers and had screening as part of the normal eye test, which was way more convenient. But that’s not how Tameside operate.
It’s annoying because I don’t want to get on public transport and my husband will need to drive me but I suppose I should be happy about having the appointment

My area stopped using Specsavers about 10-15 years ago. My other half usally takes time off work to take me as many of the locations I have been too are not always on direct bus routes anyway. One Iocation I went the signposting to the entrance was appalling and a local resident directed me, she said it always stumped people. The screening person just said when i commented on the difficulty was fill in a comments card I already had.
 
In Cheshire I had it done last March. But the healthcare in general since moving here has been 1000% better and I cannot fault it at all.
I didn’t even need to ask for the Libre it was offered. And I had been asking and asking for it there!
