Hi all
My husband and son both use the libre and scan with iPhones. My son on iPhone 8 and husband on iPhone XS Max. Both have updated to the latest Apple software and now when my husband tries to scan nothing is happening. No messages. No readings. Previously he had problems with the phone and used to get ‘unable to scan’ and it would start scanning when he persevered. After speaking to Abbott they told him to change sensor but this didn’t help. Has anyone else had these problems. I had a quick look on here before posting and couldn’t see anything. If not he will call Abbott again but has the fear that he will be passed between Apple and Abbott. Aghhhh

thanks in advance for your help.

I ran Libre sensors over Christmas, but I can’t remember if I’ve updated iOS since. I’ve got a partial update waiting though.

What version of iOS are their phones running?

It looks like LibreLink was last updated 3 months ago, and if it’s iOS 13.3.1 that you are having trouble with, I suspect news of any glitches (and Abbott’s fix) are still emerging.

Yep that’s the version. Weirdly the scanner has started to work and it turns out that while it wouldn’t scan was when his bloods were LO. He will call Abbott tomorrow and hopefully get to the bottom of it. Thanks for the reply.

Hope you get something useful of abbotts

Hi! I was just wondering if Abbot solved your iPhone problem. The same happened to my son back in May, his iPhone 8+ stopped scanning and at the time Abbot said they would get back to me.They haven’t as yet and I was loathe to chase them up during lockdown. My iPhone XS works, so that was fine whilst my Son was home. But now he’s back to school and he won’t use the scanner. He’s 17 and enjoys the discretion of his iPhone. I just thought I’d ask before I go back to Abbot. Many thanks.

I’ve just done the latest update and had no issues nor in the past and I use iPhone 8.

I haven't had any problem with my iPhone XS running iOS 13.3.1, so I suspect your son's phone is running an earlier version. You can check that in Settings. There's a good reason to always update to the latest version, and that is security. I'm currently downloading iOS 13.6.1, which does not include security updates, but they often do.

If you are on FB, there has been a lot of discussion on the Libre group about this issue which might help you.

Thank you for that. Unfortunately his iPhone is up to date. His phone just doesn’t recognise sensors anymore. I shall have to go to Abbott. Thanks again.

His phone is up to date. I shall have a look at FB. I didn’t think to look and see if there was a Libre group. Many thanks.

Maybe the NFC in the phone has stopped working @WeeMama ? xx
