So medical people want me to start gliclazide, i know i need to tell dvla but when i call they just have automatic answer thing saying were busy and then they cut off.
If i send them a letter stating that I'm on the medication does that count?
Should I do something else, and can i still drive?

Unless you are driving a bus/HGV then you don't have to tell them. Ordinary car licence is fine.

Yes you can still drive on an ordinary licence unless you were told not to by your GP

I'd like to check to make sure that a) you've been given a blood glucose meter and suppled with enough strips on your repeat prescription and that you follow the necessary DVLA medical rules regarding checking your BG level before and during longer periods of driving?
