I'm suffering a lot of pain in my right knee & femur, especially during the night ~ then I recalled that a member suggested quite some time ago that I would benefit from using a knee pillow. Hadn't a clue what a knee pillow was so did a quick rekky on Amazon and found this one for less than a £tenner. It helps.
So I say to any of you good people that if you have a knee issue then I can highly recommend this pillow. All you need to do is put the strap on your good thigh, just above your knee, so when you lie on your side the pillow rests on your bad knee, easy peasy!

Many years ago, and long before my type 2 I had physio because of back and hip pain. After my physio stopped I was advised to sleep with a pillow between my legs. Forward 20 years, x-ray has shown that I have Osteoarthritis in both hips and my spine. So I now use a pillow, but often wake up to find the pillow on the floor.

this is a great tip you have given, I for one, will purchase this. Thank you

I have used similar in the past but no longer use need at present since having a new knee. Though it is stashed away in the wardrobe.

I could be doing with new hips, however, nothing on this earth, unless I have no say, will get me into a hospital.

same question as grovesy @Annette&Bertie my grandad has a new lease of life since having his hip replacement and he had that done at the ripe old age of 82

As an add on to my first post ~ my RLS isn't as bothersome since I began using the knee pillow.

@Annette&Bertie I am in excrutiating back & hip pain due to Osteoarthritis and would welcome replacement hips. However, I wouldnt have hip replacement surgery while the COVD-19 is active. I'd rather stay away from hospitals atm. Tho having said that, surgery is imminent end of March/early April for a different health issue and I'm scared stiff of going into hospital for fear of 'catching' the Virus. Worrying. Decisions! Decisions!

For a very good reason, well more than one. My local hospital is not liked by many for reasons I won’t go into.
other reasons are simply that I have 3little Yorkshire Terriers. There is no-one to look after them in an emergency or in a planned stay for surgery in hospital. There is another very good reason. There is a hospital in my town where everyone over 60 has to go when recovering from hip surgery.

it is a horrendous place with a very poor reputation. This is not just hearsay, I have personally experienced it with a relative who had to go there twice since 2018, and was in that place both times for months, first time for 3 months 2nd time June to November 2019.

Oh that that does not sound good.
I had my knee done privately, but here the Private Hospital also does some on the NHS. I only live 5 minutes walk away.

I had private surgery in 2005 it was a great experience. I did not have insurance, so I was self funding. However that private hospital no longer operates, they only do consultations so we would need to travel some 50 miles to the nearest one, which I can’t do.

Hi Anette&Bertie
Just wondering if you did purchase the knee pillow and has it helped?
Best wishes

No, sorry not yet, however, I have been using a firm pillow instead and it has made a huge difference.
