Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi all,

I've been diagnosed just over two years and I've hit a bit of a bump in the road - I'm feeling in need of a bit of support from people who 'get it'. I'm 34, female, and based in South London, and would love to meet other women in a similar situation, to just chat about how it's all going. Anyone fancy a coffee and a chat? I'd love to hear from anyone who's interested!

🙂

Hello and welcome back to the forum.
Sorry to hear that you are going through a bumpier patch, and hope that someone on the forum happens along, that meets your criteria and is able to meet with you.

Thank you very much. It's a bit of a roller-coaster isn't it, this diabetes malarkey! I might try and set up a local informal group too. I hope all is well with you too.

You may find as you are younger than most Type2, and most may be much older.

Yes, that's why I think I'm finding it quite hard - all of the materials and support seem to be aimed at an older audience. I think there are certain aspects to T2 which can impact younger women in a slightly different way to when you're older - pregnancy and weight stigma particularly.

Yes I can understand that. Good luck with your quest.

Hi BBT. Good to see you here again. Unfortunately I don't meet your criteria (I only wish) but we do hold Forum Meets all over the country. Perhaps you could get along to one that's being held in your region?
I don't know when the next Meet will be but maybe other members will know?

Welcome to the forum @Bitchbetrippin

Hope you find some local contacts, but in the meantime there are lots of friendly folks here that you can connect with virtually. 🙂
