My appointment turned out to be how I imagined in my dreams. He was empathic, listened, supportive, caring, even apologised for the way the DSN had treated me. He had no fear or judgement, believed me and said just carry on you are doing brilliantly. He will see me in six months and trying to see if I can do a Dafne course which is nearer than one hours drive. He kept on asking me, anything else I can help you with. So I mentioned I miss my meter and why.
Perfect, and all my tests came back positively, cholesterol had come down and ratio is ideal.

It may have taken two years and a half but very grateful now to have some support from a professional.

That is so good to hear that you had a good appointment and support. Did you get your meter back or was that a step to far?

Thanks, it's odd here as he is from Bath which is in Wiltshire and my doctor is in Somerset who are in charge of prescriptions so not sure there is much he can do. He said he would try!

Thanks, yes huge relief is what I feel! About to go out and buy ingredients so I can bake the low carb blueberry muffins for a picnic tomorrow. Photos will follow if they turn out ok.

Well done you must have been feeling very apprehensive.

Plan B, was to stop being under the care of the consultant and seeing the wonderful doctor we have here. Now I can relax.
It was right to tell him what the nurse said NJ...she shouldn't prejudge what your consultant would say...for all she knew it might have led to you cancelling the appointment if you really believed what she said...yes relax & indulge tomorrow...and how refreshing to have him validate your way of managing your diabetes...you've had a lot of criticism so it must have been great to have him say your control was excellent.

Wonderful news @New-journey 🙂 🙂 🙂

Makes such a difference when you have an appointment like that. Hopefully that feeling of support and relationship will build and strengthen from here. You've certainly waited long enough for it!

Wow great to see this NJ!! :D xx

Thanks and hope so too. Yes, very true, feeling very relieved.

Great to hear NJ 🙂 don't know what you were so worried about! 😉 🙂
If the DSN hadn't left, I would be tempted to write a note and say, actually the consultant was very very supportive, not angry at all.😉

I'm so glad it went well, it's such a breath of fresh air to get someone who is supportive and positive.
it is so wonderful! I can't quite believe my luck. 🙂
