I have done this before quite a while back, but today, with my HbA1c due on Friday, thought I'd give it another go to see what the trends are. I will be testing every hour & just done my first test before breakfast.

10AM - 6.4. Had Mackerel in tomato sauce on a low carb muffin. Next test at 11AM.

11AM - 6.1.🙂 Heading in the right direction.🙂

12AM - 5.7. 🙂 Time for a cuppa.

Go Mark! :D x

1PM - 5.9. Must be the tea.:D Time to make some soup for lunch.🙂

2PM - a lovely house special of 5.2. Was late making lunch, should be ready soon.🙂

3PM - 10 mins after soup & low GI roll: 5.4. Be interesting to see how my veg soup affects me over the next 2 hours.

4PM - Not good!:( 1hr 10min after soup & low GI roll, 9.0!😱 Let's see what the recovery rate is.

5PM - Absolute disaster! 9.6! (This was actually a 2nd reading as I didn't believe the 1st which was 10.4)
I've had home made veg soup before with no problems. I've had the Lidl low GI rolls before with no problems. I'm thinking that the two together isn't good.:( I'm dreading my next HbA1c now.😳

Well, I've decided that Lidl low GI rolls are off the menu. They may be low GI, but each one is 45g carb! I calculated my Veg soup to be around 12g carb, so that's more than my usual whole day's carbs in one meal. Annoyingly, I had the same yesterday but didn't test. I mentioned earlier that I tested my BG with the rolls before, but thinking back, I don't think I did. Really the wrong time of the month to experiment.

6PM - 6.7.🙂 Thankfully finally going down. I went for a walk which may have helped.

Well done Mark. I never use low GI stuff. But going for a walk works for me too! 🙂

Really interesting experiment. You were doing great! Drat those rolls. 🙂

It's amazing how something so innocent and 'healthy' can give such bad results. I might as well had fish & chips!
7PM - 4.2! I've got a case of panicking pancreas!

Fingers aren't too bad. Think I've toughened to it over the last 2 years.

8PM - 5.2 just before dinner. Chicken & bacon casserole in the slow cooker.🙂

9PM - 5.9.🙂 1 hour after dinner.
