Well woke up a bit higher than usual today - 6.8, 2 hours after breakfast - 6.0, my poor cat had a urine infection last week but all was looking good till after my 2 hour check, stressed, worried and 3 hours after breakfast - 9.0 :0! Let's hope I can settle and calm down as could really do without this :( x

Nothing like stress to turn your levels crazy (though 9 is nowhere near crazy by my standards 😛 ) Hope kitty is feeling better x

Thanks he has the vet at 2 so will no doubt be more injections, he had 3 last Wednesday night and 2 on Friday :( x

Hope your cat is soon much better. And that your levels drop back down to more normal for you again 🙂

Hope your cat is ok later Kaylz, good luck at the vets. Theres nothing worse than added stress.

I hope you cat gets better soon and your levels go back down.

Update - his urine infection is back but rather than injections we have a course of tablets to give him and a syringe medicine to be taken orally too, the cat is on set units of that, he can join me for a week in taking medication, he's 14 and this is the first time in his life he's had any problems so he's doing well 🙂 x

Hope the mediaction works for him. I remember when my old cat Stitch needed tablets, the only way we could get her to take them was to cover them in Dairylea!!!

Well he is going to be getting half a tablet at a time and trust me he's not the best at taking tablets his worming tablets are pure hell to get down him although the vet said her cat is on the same tablets at the moment and likes them that much that she tries to rip the foil open herself so you never know, fingers crossed anyway, our cats have never been good at taking tablets even mixed into tuna, it's chicken fillets for tea tonight though so might try and hide it in a bit of chicken and give him it x

It's amazing how they seem to know if there's a tablet of any size hiddenin food. Our cat can tell and always carefully eats around it. Yet at the vets she's a model patient. Guess she knows we don't manage tough love! Hope you can convince your little fella to get it down 🙂

He's a great cat but he doesn't like it if you try to look in his mouth etc just paws at your hand to get you away yet when the vet did it twice last week he sat like a little angel of course! x

Poor cat :(
Stress and worry affects my levels too, hopefully as your cat recovers they will go down.
Can you crush the tablets?? Hopefully it will tell you in the info leaflet, as some tablets aren't suitable. I have 2 cats that are a nightmare to get tablets into, but if crushed and mixed with tinned tuna (and brine!) they will eat it 🙂

Unfortunately if we try that he just won't eat his food as we've tried that all his life, if needs must we will just have to wrap him in a towel so the claws don't come out haha, I know it sounds cruel but if it's the only way it will work it has to be done :( x

I don't know about cats but I used to get a special treats from the vet for my dog to put the tablets in. I could then get his tablets in him no problem.

It's fine I held onto him while my mum popped the tablet in then scooshed his medicine in and he sat ok 🙂 probably cause of the bit of parmesan chicken waiting for him though lol x

Glad you got it down him 🙂 parmesan chicken sounds delicious, do you just stuff the breast with it?

Unfortunately not it's much more messy than that haha, chicken fillets rub them with mayonnaise about 10-15g per fillet, and sprinkle some grated parmesan on top I love parmesan so I use a lot but you can use however much you want and pop in a preheated oven (180c) for 45 mins 🙂, my OH isn't really keen on mayo or parmesan but absolutely loves it 🙂 x

Haha, my two cats are terrible with tablets too (and the dog isn't much better). My hubby is rubbish at holding them, so the cats usually get wedged between my thighs while I stick the tablets down their throats - it's for their own good! The dog usually has a tablet swiftly followed by a lump of cheese so that she doesn't cough it back up. Cats do seem prone to urine infections as they get older!

My mum used to do that with our old cat, I was only little so couldn't hold him haha, my dog couldn't get any treats as she had so many problems there was once she kept a tablet hidden in her mouth for a good hour or so and I only noticed when she spat it out and it stuck to her face it was bright pink so very noticeable haha, and yeah the female cat we had up until 2015 was fine the whole time she was 19 when we had to have her put to sleep but she got urine infections when she was older x
