Sorry to hear you're feeling blue, Northie.:( It's weird how all of a sudden we seem to need MUCH more insulin. I'm having the same problem too...hope you feel a bit more perky soon.🙂

Sorry to hear that you are feeling down..... Personally I love the Fall & this year the colors have just been spectacular. My office window faces east & I get to see great sunrises over the mountains every morning at this time of year

Now you've made us all feel dreadful :D

I used to love this time of year, but now it's just cold and wet and I ache all over and can't wait for spring. I too advocate the sparkly nail polish, mine is turquoise this week, it makes me smile. I also have a light box which does help when you're up in the far frozen north and it's dark for months at a time.

In midwinter the sun barely gets over the hills behind us. Some people I know down the road a way never see the sun at all for a month in winter.

Go for the green. Divine decadence🙄 Remember Lisa Minnelli in Cabaret?🙂

Sorry to read that you are feeling down Alan. I am sending you lots of hugs {}. You are one of my heroes and have been such an inspiration to me. Hope you feel a bit better soon. My husband who cannot get out now except in the wheelchair has been given vitamin D as he won't be getting the sunlight, sounds worth a try for you. Take care 🙂

Sorry to read this, Alan! I, too, am struggling with my mood the past few weeks (the fact I've gained half a stone doesn't help...)

I'm a massive advocate of "natural" antidepressants (I'm not saying you're depressed!) such as getting outdoors, getting as much exercise as possible and eating good food!

I hope you can find something to bring your mood back up soon (((hugs)))

My wife's aches & pains have got worse since the change in the weather. Unfortunately, sparkly nail polish is off the cards, as her nails are falling off.:(

I think all us crumblies are feeling the weather. Had to defrost the wheelchair this morning, then defrost the legs when I got back from the Docs

Oh dear, I'm sorry for all you SAD people 😉 ! Like some of the others I love this time of year, with the changing colours, the (hopefully) crisp frosty mornings and longer dark evenings. Fireside (or radiator) warmth, snuggly clothes, snoozy cats and the Doctor Who Christmas special...what could be nicer?

Just managed to catch a few rays mowing the lawn whilst the Sun is out 🙂 Actually quite warm work! 🙂

Spring? 🙂

Ah, yes, I quite like spring but then I think of the sweaty hot summer days and nights that follow, and I start to feel :(....

Oh yes, north London :D, but anything over 20C is too hot for me...especially in October when it should be 13 or 14C - nice and bracing!

I hate this time of year but have come up with a new plan this year.... My summer ends 31 October. Autumn is 1st November until 31 December and my Spring starts January 1st - then is all downhill til Summer! Not acknowledging winter this year!

My other tried and tested cheerer uppers are:
  • A special hot chocolate, with whipped cream, mini marshmallows and sprinkles (I use options Belgian, but with the other stuff there's not much point, I just like the taste and I don't do it often)
  • A nice long soak (good for aches and pains) with my favourite smellies (Jo Malone, or L'Occitane for preference)
  • Lunch down at Eden Court, good food, not too expensive and they let you sit as long as you want. I can sit in the warm and watch the river
  • Favourite book/music/movie and a real fire
Options 1 and 2, or 1 and 4 work really well together.
