10 year diversary

Well it's been a hard journey & there are times I wish he'd go away

But it was around this time 10 years ago I was waiting for the emergency doctor to come out to me (who never came out) so was taken to A&E.

I remember them saying I smelt of pear drops (which I didn't understand) & an evil finger pricker to be told I'm sorry but you have diabetes (my bloods were over 22!)

I cried because they were waiting on a bed for me on a children's ward & I didn't want to stop in hospital.

So happy birthday 10th Tom (my diabetes).

There are times I curse the day you picked on my pancreas but at the end of the day, you are my disease & I wouldn't change you (ok I would)

Here's to the next 10 years together

It's a bit of a standing joke that people have been told there is a cure in '5 to 10 years' since the 1960s with every new discovery - still waiting! 😱

I know, I thought it was 11 years until my pump consultant confirmed my date of being diagnosed. It does feel longer.

Shhhh don't mention cake! I was going to buy one to "celebrate" but 2 cakes sound good

Yeah it kind of does feel like I should do something as its a bit of a milestone.

I agree, I'm looking forward to him turning 18 & muttering the words I want to move out.

Happy diversary to you. Have 2 cakes but use a blunt needle for tom's jab and overdo it a bit so he gets hypo. Teach him a lesson 😉

Mossey, no to hypo!! I've had enough of them this week. Wish I could do a temp basal on MDI's roll on pump day for that joy
