I experienced my first hypo yesterday. I had been but on 2 x 9 units of insulatard at the beginning of the week and my readings had been good. Average at about 6.6 on waking in the morning and the dropping to about 4.5 before lunch and dinner.
I went for acupuncture the night before and then yesterday took a reading before breakfast which was 5.5. I ate the same breakfast I had all week but by 1130 I started to feel muzzy headed and then a little jittery. Took my Gloucouse and it was at 3.2
I feel a little bit reassured that I know know what to expect and taking the Gloucouse tablet seemed to resolve it but it took a good ten min to make me feel better.
I have gone back to taking 8 units in the morning or at least unit they but me on MDI.
Regarding sugars, do people find that coke make recovery quicker or anything else?
