Hi Di
Glad you have managed to be seen and are on the way to a diagnosis. I am in the wrong job
Seriously though, if it does prove to be gallstones and they decide to operate, you will be back on your feet in no time and there is absolutely no reason why this should affect your adoption plans. Anyone and everyone can get gallstones, and these days with keyhole surgery, it really isn't the big operation it once was.
Don't go worrying about it affecting your holiday either, I know when my mother-in-law had them she went months and months between flare-ups, but that wasn't diagnosed for a long time after she first had an attack. I agree with you, it could well have been the start of it when you came to Oxford. I am assuming you had some pain with the sickness then too? You certainly looked pretty dreadful that afternoon. It can be excrutiatingly painful, so definitely better out than in!
Good luck with it all, and do keep us posted.
Take care.
Tina
Hi Tina,
Thanks for your advise yesterday and yes in Oxford I did have the pain as well.
Still feel quite sick today, but I dont know if that is from being violently sick in the early hrs of Wed or if that is now down to worry etc.
I've literally just forced myself to eat some chicken soup - wanted tomato but didn't have any in. But a bit scared to eat as well if that makes sense.
But any how - I'm getting the tests etc I need so hopefully one way or the other I will know what the problem is and get treated.
Also thank you again to the get well wishes.
Di xxx
