They haven't made a big 'splash' of the launch yet.

I've been asked to write a review of it, which I am going to do this weekend after having had a play for a day or two.

Short version: 4/5 stars🙂

I suppose it'd be like all these things that I occasionally download or buy to help with diabetes management. I'd use it for a few weeks then forget about it. I can't remember the last time I used my glucofacts stuff for my Contour USB. Only handy if you're an iPhone user which is a bit of a handicap.

Becky,

Long time since we saw you post here! Hope all's well!

Tom

I wouldn't give it quite that many. It seems to only like entering the weight in St/lbs which is a pain for us metric types.

But more importantly it lacks an export/backup/restore function. Given the tendency to brick a iPhone/iTouch on software updates I would consider that a little vital.

If I do exercise I have to add that as a note, but that's ok. A BMI calculator when entering weight would be useful too!

Ive been trying to justify getting an iphone , my health might be one reason 😉 so as well as this app and carbs and cals what other apps would help ? the more apps the more justification :D:D

You don't need an iPhone. An iPod Touch would suffice and be much cheaper.

I would like to see the ability to export the data. I have been using easydiabetes while waiting for DUK's one & it was really useful to print the sheet with dad's food diary with corresponding readings to take to his appointment. Filling in both apps now, I had hoped only to use the tracker but the lack of export especially for food and readings keeps me using both.

The one I am using sends a spreadsheet by email or csv file with all details I have entered.

I would like it to support pump data - I can't find any way of entering basal rates other than the hour when they change to a new rate, anyone else found one?

Mind you, the same is true of every other diabetes related app I've tried, so you're in good company... :D

In my wildest dreams, I'd like my blood test meter or pump (not fussy which) to be able to bluetooth my phone to update the app automagically. Any chance of that in the next update? No? Thought not.

Is it an iPhone app? - I can't find it...

Jenny,
I did justify getting an iphone by saying i would log my BG!!! however, as i struggle to get accurate recordings as im on a pump i just play games now!!! still glad i got it though, will be trying the DUK one!

Thanks, but I was also looking for the easydiabetes one as well, as it will link with the computer
Hi think it's the one I mentioned the app itself doesn't link to your computer but you can send the full log you keep via email & open it in Numbers (Mac) or excel if you use csv format or the simple table works well just to print directly from the email.

This link should take you to the free version I use this as it's got enough detail for us http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/easy-diabetes/id388621370?mt=8

Thanks, I'm going to try it too! I have an Accuchek Expert, which does all the calcs but nowhere to say what the carbs were, which is sometimes necessary to explain the results obtained!

I note the carbs in the comments section and it prints out beside the levels. The version which isn't free may have an actual carb diary bit. Check the free one out first. I know there are others with actual carb diaries. I'm happy with the table and my own notes didn't realise I would have used it so much although you may prefer one with precise carb calculations. Hopefully it will help you if you make the notes like I am doing

I still like Diabetes Diary which links to Insulin Calculator. You can email the results to XL as a CSV but you have to then produce the graphs. I can't seem to get the csv version from my Expert meter, keep meaning to ring them to find out why!

I'll pass along everybody's thoughts and feedback to Joe at DUK, see if they have any updates planned 🙂
