Gah! Spaghetti chicken madras...

Took one of my frozen meals out of the freezer and pronounced it to be bolognaise sauce, so I put on a pan of spaghetti and began nuking the sauce...

Yup, chicken madras! 😱 An interesting combination, but felt so wrong! 🙄
 
Its like a radio station i listen to where viewers ring in with 2 foods that you would never expect to be put together the other weekend was frys mint chocolate in a bread roll, the best bit is the presenters have to go out buy the bits and try it, the best tasting suggestions win 🙂
 
I think it's to do with textures as much as taste - spaghetti instead of rice just felt wrong. I would probably have been better if I'd thought it was shepherd's pie and had chicken madras and mash 🙂

Don't know about frys mint but I used to love frys cream bar sandwiches.
 
Lol! i too did that the other night, got out the freezer what i thought was bolognaise sauce and it was curry sauce but by the time i realised it was already cooked so decided to eat my spaghetti with meatballs with curry sauce but it just wasn't right :(

when mum was in hospital having me, my dad got out a meat pie and gravy from the freezer, cut into it - and it was an apple pie!!
 
Who mentioned Fys's five centres? I used to love Fry's chocolate cream, probably would find it too sweet now!

It's a bit like grinding black pepper onto strawberries!

We are having one of those meals tomorrow night. Just got it out of the freezer and at the moment haven't a clue what it is...........so going to call it 'Friday nights surprise' :D

I managed to get it right tonight - could just make out some sliced carrot and that made it bolognaise sauce. I also put sweetcorn in chiili sauce so that I can work out what it is when it's frozen solid! I remember years ago when I was a poor student buying a load of tinned food without labels from a market stall - that led to some very surprising food combinations! 😱

I'm another one who loved Fry's Five Centres -- what happened to them?

I once had a bottle of balsamic vinegar which recommended using it on strawberries! 😱 Vinegar on strawberries? That's weirder than the Augusta cartoon in the Evening Standard which suggested strawberries and chips (apparently, allegedly the Queen has that)...
