Wordle - Quordle Thread

Much better luck this morning, especially in Quordle where a kinda wild guess (albeit based on a lack of alternatives based on remaining vowels) really paid off.

Wordle: 3
Quordle: 3+5+4+6=18
Octordle: 52

Total: 3+18+52=73
 
Wordle in 3
Quordle 5 4 8 7 = 24
Octordle for 52

Gives me 79
 
Struggled with Wordle and Quordle where the remaining word took 3 lives on the home stretch but had a good run through Octordle.

Wordle in 5
Quordle 6 3 9 5 = 23
Octordle for 52

Gives me 80
 
@saffron15 I know I am probably not the best example of having success with the Wordle quizzes but it really does help to use the same word and sometimes second word each day as you get used to which letters you have used and see patterns with those letters pairing with other letters. It can make the Weekly Challenge a little more.... well....challenging, because none of us are starting with our regular word, but I would do much worse if I didn't start with the same word every day on the daily quizzes.

Do you use the same start word for all three? I do have some favoured second words eg guide/ equip/ roast/ ready I decided to choose a different start word every day for wordle years ago. My sister and I do it and square every day. As far as wordle is concerned my sister always uses audio then second go usually checks e and y.
Maybe ill try same word for a week. My sister will notice as we swap scores by email and actual results
 
@saffron15 Yes, I use the same starter word for all 3 puzzles but I have 2 or 3 second words for Quordle and Octordle depending upon the letters I get from my first word.
With Wordle I play hard mode so I have to use whatever letters my first word gives me, so that dictates my second word, unless I don't get anything at all from my first word and then I can use one of the second words I use with Quordle and Octordle. Robin and I both play Wordle in hard mode.

That’s interesting, I use Audio for Wordle, and so does my son, so we stick to that because we compare results. OH uses Route. Second word I try and incorporate an H and an E, if possible. We play in hard mode, as a family.

Is your second letter top right or bottom left? I only got bottom left (Word 3) on my last guess with only 2 letters know...

Tomorrow will be a better day...
