So one of the foods I think I will miss is the double sausage and egg mc muffins. I would normally get a hash brown and an orange juice.

I’ve just had a look and if I lose the HB and juice. The double sausage and egg McMuffin doesn’t look too bad on carbs?

I know they’re full of rubbish and it would be once in a while, but am I correct on that? Seems to be around 30g or am I missing something ?

No...that sounds about correct. You are looking for the carb count so the Muffin roll plus any hidden in maybe something like breadcrumbs or oatmeal in the sausage.
It's the fructose in the OJ plus any added sugars and the potato starch in the HBs....I make HBs when the grandkid stay over at times using celeriac...they don't seem to notice the difference.
McDs are pretty good at publishing their nutrient tables...have you googled it?

Had a good look through and those are the figures I’ve found. I’m just getting my head rounds things. It looks like I could have 5 of them if i lose the bread haha.

Sausage & Egg McMuffin - 27g carbs
(Double Sausage & Egg McMuffin - 28g)
Hash Brown (1) - 13g

Still easy enough to fit in to your day when you need a fix.

🙂

Other than the wraps which do seem a bit higher carb all the breakfast items seem pretty similar, you could save a few carbs by ditching half the bun.

I find it easy to ditch half a bun when I have a knife and fork.
Less so when I am eating with my hands.

I can't remember the last time I had a Maccy Ds so `I don't know how runny their egg maybe. I certainly wouldn't want to eat a lovely running yolk with my hands without enough bread to mop it up.
And from my Mum embarrassing me as a child, I know they do not have knives and forks ... or plates.
<Parents can be so humiliating when you are a teenager 😱>

Definitely!
Have to admit, on checking these numbers out - I was surprised to see how easy they’d be to fit into a day when a lot of people stick to 130g carbs for their low carb diet.
I try to stay somewhere between 30-50g for the most part but there’s still plenty of wriggle room if you’re fancying a naughtier day 🙂

You have to have a runny egg when having a bacon or sausage butty @helli

Don't mind a McD from time to time, burgers not as tasty as Burger King mind.

I’ve downloaded an app carbs and Cals, got loads off restaurants on it. I find it handy when eating out, you have to pay for it once a year

Could always chuck half the bun. Also you could bring it home and put it in a low carb wrap but probably defeats the object if you're looking for a treat doing it this way, I'd throw half the bun or not eat the edges once you've had the bits with filling.

The wraps have really shocked me. Was expecting a lot lower tbh. It’s only if I need a fix tbh. I’m hoping to not have a McDonalds as they really are full of rubbish.

Have had a double sausage and egg McMuffin ( no muffin) and they give you a disposable knife and fork. Enjoyed it

I don't eat Mc Donald's anything, but if you beat three eggs and thin it down with a small amount of water, then use one of the little frying pans from Lidl - very non stick, to make a couple of egg wraps you can roll a nice low carb sausage in each one and then have a dessert afterwards, and then coffee with cream and finish off with cheese and celery or cucumber.
My blood glucose barely flickers.

mmmmmm drool i will have to stop reading this thread

I may have indulged this morning after a trip to the vets with the pooch 😛

Probably not ideal with bloods in 2 days but I’m very much at the point of ‘it is what it is’ right now.
41g carbs well spent and much needed.

No strips to test with at the moment so will just have to see what the Libre makes of it.

Sometimes it's probably best not to test and just enjoy it though if it was me I'd be curious to check myself at the same time.
