you know when you may be feeling down or in need of some good old fashioned comfort. One is bananas lovely to eat but by heck they do spike my BG by a good few points, the other is beef stew and dumplings, this does not spike me thankfully not unless i go overboard on the dumplings
Just wondered what other peoples were

I can think of a lot of comfort foods that I used pre-diagnosis, mostly containing sugar and chocolate or high carb savoury foods but I have developed low carb comfort foods since diagnosis. Coffee with cream or cheese with olives or feta stuffed peppadew peppers or a square of 70% dark choc broken into quarters and eaten slowly one at a time with a bit of peanut butter. Pork scratchings or roasted nuts. I do find that there is a lot of satisfaction in crunchy foods.

Mine used to be xl cheese crisps and chocolate eaten together. Don’t know if xl cheese crisps are just sold in Scotland, cheese and jam sandwich are nice as well

Cheese: no carbs but too much fat 🙄

Love XL cheese & yes you can get them in scotland, had many holidays there over the
Sorry I was meaning don’t know if they sell them in England. I live in Scotland near Gretna green, and don’t think they sell them in Carlisle

I live in Scotland now and I've never heard of "xl cheese crisps". Luckily I can resist crisps but I'll look for them in the supermarket.

They are sold everywhere mate, tell you what's just as nice is Greggs own cheese crisps, also Morrison extra special ones.

Always loved crisps, even as a boy would buy a bag over sweets or ice cream.

Don’t think you will get them in supermarkets, don’t in my area. Newsagents and spar sell them, they come in box’s and sold per packet. You need to try one packet they are delicious

Find some post offices & newsagents sell them, often on offer in bulk buy for 10 bags for example.

Our ice cream van sold them when kids, that's where tasted them first & been fan since.

We can buy them by the box, only bought once put me off them for a good while

Funny but i was sort of thinking about this the other day

Before i loved crisps.....biscuits....toast...choccy....all sorts of things but now i realised ive changed so much........i dont even have sweeteners let alone sugar in my tea (and i have had decaf for over a year now)

If i want something sweet to nibble on during the evening i will have 3 or 4 dates so i guess thats my comfort snack food now

Tea.....can always manage a cuppa......a buscuit to dunk would be nice but no lol

something i find very satisfying is chicken wraps.........either with pepper onions and mushrooms.....or salad....and i use asda low carb wraps....they have some that use flour made from peas!....cant tell difference
