Q6 of renewal

Hi. Just filling in my licence renewal on line and confused about q6 (i can't remember what i ticked last time).

Q6 asks about 2 or more episodes of low blood glucose in the last 12 months where you have needed help. (Do not count episodes where you were given help but could have helped yourself)

I've had hypos but never needed help. If i tick yes then will it count as needing help but if i tick no then they may think i have no hypo awareness.

If you have had hypos but not needed help then you tick no to the have you had hypos where you needed help question (6).

There are seperate questions about hypo awareness (should be q3 and q4)

I haven’t seen the latest form, but last time I did mine, there were two separate questions. Have you had more than two hypos in the past 12 months, with a tickbox for that part (yes, in my case) and a separate question, Have you ever needed help etc, with its own tickbox (answer, no,)
Is that still the format or has it merged it into one question with one tick box?
 
I always get paranoid filling this in and it sounds like they haven’t made it any easier 🙄 The last time I did it, I think there was a question asking if I’d had hypos, then if Yes, there were further questions including whether I needed assistance.

I suggest you read all the related questions in order and then hopefully it will be clearer. The assistance question only applies to ‘needed a 3rd party’ hypos. If you did not need a 3rd party, you’d say No. This wouldn’t mean you have had any hypos, but that you hadn’t had any hypos requiring assistance.

Also worth remembering that by needing 3rd party assistance they don’t mean someone just passing you something sugary, they mean where you couldn’t have sorted it without someone else stepping in

Q4 yes i get warning signs
Q5 no not severe needing help from another person
Q6 miss out
Q7yes

Sorry if this seems really simple but i'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with things atm and this is just extra
 
Thank you. I know its silly but the more i looked the more i convinced myself i wasn't filling it in correctly.

It’s not silly at all. I do the same myself each time I do it - read it about a million times, question myself, get confused, etc, etc! It should be clearer and simpler.

Edit. Both as to the answers, and to getting confused about answering the form.
 
Morning all. So i submitted my application online on Thursday but haven't had any confirmation email to say its gone through. I rang DVLA this morning to be told that it has to be scanned onto the system and sent to the relevant department before confirmation emails are sent and this can take up to 10 days. I repeated that the application had been done online not by post but just kept being told the same thing. I'm probably just being impatient as most things online are acknowledged quickly but felt like i was being fobbed off.

I applied online to renew my Liscene, turn 70 soon but I got an immediate confirmation of application. That was Thursday too!

I wonder if i try to apply again it will go through. All i got on Thursday was

This was at the end of the application but no email has been sent with any confirmation.

In the email did you get a 14digit reference number to be able to track the progress?
 
I've just been back onto them and they said the email confirmation is just a courtesy and i have to wait 10 working days before contacting them. Hopefully then the page that came up at the end of my application is enough to confirm its gone through ok.
 
Wow! Thats quick! I've still had nothing, no email confirmation, call, text or anything through the post.

Yes it was, I was very surprised. I had to renew my Photo License last year as it expired and I think it took a week or two to arrive.
