Just be careful & check with your Dr first, but sure your not meant to exclude gluten before being tested as it interferes with accuracy of test.

@Rmcmac is a recent member with coeliac. I think @Pumper_Sue might have the condition too, or avoids gluten.

@nonethewiser is quite right. You need to be eating a fair amount of gluten before the test else you might get a false negative.
Hi 🙂 yeah I have initial appointment initial appointment first.

So will mention about eat gluten in my diet before

I had to stop as over coming years my stomach and symptoms have got so bad I always put down to foods or not cooked right or what ever

Diagnosed with coeliac disease about 18 months ago which came as a surprise as I'm asymptomatic! This followed diagnosis of being T1 diabetic about 2 years earlier (at the tender age of 64!) It's a(nother) complication to cope with, so I can appreciate your situation.
I would echo Inka's recommendation to have a look at the Coeliac.org.uk website. There's a lot of useful information available.
A word of caution - although Joe Public has some appreciation of diabetes these days in my experience some folk (including those in the catering/hospitality industry) have little appreciation of the issues around the medical requirement to be gluten-free.

I have just received my blood test back for coeliac and it’s come back negative .

I’m not sure what else to do . The serve belly problems is horrible

That's great news! At least you now know it's not Coeliac disease. Not being medically trained I can't make any suggestions, I'm afraid.
Fingers crossed you get things sorted soon.

Apparently the blood test is not accurate and will need camera for proper diagnostic

Your options are:

Ask for a camera test, some people with coeliac test negative on the blood test. You’ll need to keep eating gluten whilst you wait.

Or, avoid gluten for 1-3 months and see if it helps. Some people have non coeliac gluten sensitivity.

I’m going with option 2 myself, can take a few months to heal properly so I’ll see how I go over the next few months, and then whether I get any symptoms when I accidentally eat gluten, as I’m sure I will do.

A negative blood test for coeliac doesn’t rule out coeliac though. It just doesn’t rule it in.

You don’t have to be coeliac to be gluten intolerant. How did you feel when you reduced your gluten.? My mums not coeliac but eats gluten free and that solved her tummy issues.

Ask about Probiotic treatment as somebody I heard of had horrendous stomach problems, had various investigations which found nothing sinister but was prescribed a particular probiotic treatment by her consultant and is so much better and can actually eat without pain.
They did try gluten free and it helped a bit.

Have they tested to rule out absorption problems like pancreatic insufficiency? Is it ‘just’ pain or are you getting an upset stomach too?
