Hi Sammy, welcome to the forum.

Have you mentioned this to your GP? Is you diabetes under medication / control?

This could be a symptom being diabetic but it's worth speaking with someone to make sure that you're care plan is on the right path.

You need to see your doctor - you could be misdiagnosed and need different treatment.

@Sammy.Brown . Am I right in thinking your weight loss is unexpected ?
And how long has it been going on for, apologies if you have already mentioned this in other threads.
How did you come to be diagnosed.

Yes I agree it would be best to speak to your Gp/ nurse ASAP

My weight loss has bean going on for a good couple of weeks 4 weeks I’d say

You do really need to speak to your Gp/nurse
What tests did they do to determine T1, T2 etc if it was just the Hb1ac blood test this cannot determine the type.
The c-peptide and the GAD does this.
As you can see some of us are concerned that you may have been mis diagnosed as T2 , though their are plenty of other causes of weight loss

They done a blood test in 2019 and it showed up that I had type two diabetes and something else showed up a lack of something iron deficiency or something like that but they never done anything about it but I do have type two diabetes

Hello Sammy you say you are feeling tired ? are you on metformin?
this can strip B12 from your body which it has done to mine and
before covid I had B12 injections every 3 months then told to fund it
myself when the shut down began I now take a good strength B12
Im not really so tired now perhaps you could look into this ?

Hello yes I’m on metformin I take it twice morning and night the strength is 500mg

Have you been trying to lose weight? Have you been ill in any way eg upset tummy or feeling sick so that you’ve not eaten as much?

You’re on Irbarstan too? Could the tiredness be a side effect of that?

For the past 4weeks I’ve bean having some wired sensations my abdomen has been acting wired it feels like something keeps pushing and I have really bad bladder problems

I’m sorry - that sounds really unpleasant @Sammy.Brown Definitely give your GP surgery a call on Monday and explain you’re having these symptoms.

Of course, if you feel really ill during the weekend, phone 111 for advice.

I hope whatever the problem is can be easily sorted. Take it easy and look after yourself.

I’m pleased to inform that I have lost some weight I used to weigh 16stone and now I’m 14St.9.1lbs but my question is this is due to drinking water or is something else that’s making me loose weight

Ive merged your questions about weight loss into the same thread Sammy to keep your answers in the same place. Most of our members read most sections of the forum, so you don’t need to ask the same questions in more than one place - members will find it, wherever it is 🙂

Did you manage to call the Dr today?

Drinking water as opposed to what, Sammy? - what would you be drinking if it were not the water ?

What can happen is this:

If you are type 1 you do not produce enough insulin. Your body can not use the glucose and just throws it out. It needs lots of water to do this. It then uses fat for fuel so you lose wieght.

The problem is that it can not use the fat properly without insulin. Using fat without insulin produces toxins - very dangerous.

When you say that you had a blood test which showed that you are type 2 are you sure that that is what it did show, and not just that you are diabetic. The type is often just an assumption. It is not usual to test for type!
