Hi my first post, just wondering if there is any HGV drivers out there who are type 1 and on insulin.

I've now had my HGV licence revoked for about 4 weeks now because I didn't have 12 weeks worth of glucose readings on my meter.

I've now since got 12 weeks worth of readings and been back for a private medical and eye sight test and filled in a new application to get my HGV licence back which both doctors have said they are happy with, I sent that off 3 weeks ago..

I've contacted the DVLA today to ask for a update as I've had nothing back from them, they have told me that a letter has been sent out today saying that I now have to see a DVLA doctor? I'm just wondering if this is standard practise??? and its frustrating because I've paid to have a private medical and passed and showed them proof of 12 weeks worth of readings only to be sent to another private doctor... Any advice would be great thankyou.

I suggest you ring the helpline number at the top of the page.

I cannot comment on DVLA/HGV/diabetes , but I can tell you that DVLA are really eager to revoke HGV license for the tiniest fraction of a reason .

Hope you’ve had a successful resolution to your application @whyaye176
